Just a thought, but presumably you are planning on selling the Shetland?

If so, up the price by £150 and say "comes complete with MMSI programmed radio"......Buyer gets a totally hassle free radio, you get a nice bit of new tec for the rib. Everyone happy.

Worth a try but I doubt it will work.

I plan on selling the Shetland later in the year but the person that has shown an interest in it only wants to use it on the lake district and will not need the radio. I don't know how long the Suzuki DT55 will last with only just being used on tick over.

My thanks to all for the advice, problem now solved. Compass 24 will change the MMSI for me for £27-50p inclusive of postage so I will be putting it in the post first thing in the morning and they say that I should get it back by next Mon/Tue.

Did you try the button pressing combination in Polwart's link first? That was for the same model as yours (ignore the NASA bit - they are the same radio).

Have not sent the radio to Compass yet so I will give it a try now that I know that it is the same radio, Many thanks for this bit of info.
