Navionics Gold format question.

Hi Guys

Going to ask a stupid question here..

If I were to buy a Navionics Gold chart (28XG) in SD format, will it work in any chart plotter that takes Navionics Gold cards with an SD slot. (Specifically a Humminbird Helix 7) or is the software format "model specific".

Thanks

It "should" work. I've always had Navionics charts & only had to specify the physical card format, not which plotter it's going into.
If you ring Navionics in Plymouth & ask for Lance, he's the head guy there & very helpful. They will do a trade in deal on old formats etc.

It'll work as long the unit you plug it into can read the specific Navionics format (i.e. Gold, Silver, etc.) Navionics data files are the format, the unit reads that (trying to say that cards are not brand specific to the head unit. And saying it badly, I suspect.)

Thanks for the info guys.
Now it's time to bite the bullet, swallow hard and part with £180 quid for a MSD card.
