Navman plotter

Quick question:

Navman 5505 plotter has the facility to display depth but no available connection for a transducer. The book is very vague, can anyone tell me how it acquires a depth reading? Is it via the navbus connection using another instrument?

cheers

ok I have established the fact there is no connection for a transducer so why does it display a blank depth reading? Surely it must get the info via the navbus?

Yes it does get the feed from Navbus - My 5505 got the reading from a separate Navman Fishfinder (in turn fed by a through hull transducer)

Hope that helps

Is the "Navbus" NMEA2000? (I think the Lowrance bus is that) , in which case there are NMEA 2000 transducers out there which may plug straight in?
