Navman TRACKER Replacement

Having tried contacting Navmans service centre and not recieving any replies. Im looking at buying a replacement Chartplotter.

What do people recommend ?

Another complication is I only bought a C-Map NT cartridge covering the Solent to Channel Islands a month ago costing around £160, so Im really looking for a unit that will take this C-Map NT cartridge.

Pete

You could take a look at the Cobra and Standard Horizon ranges - both take C-Map charts. Boat Show is the obvious place to take a look this week!

Looked at your orginal post with your Navman woes - is it still under warranty? Why not just take it back to the dealer you bought it from - it's their responsiblilty. If it's the ones who want to charge £50 handling . . .

Unfortunately its 3 years old so its out of warranty.

Ive driven a lot of ribs over the years and it seems that no electronics (even if they are specified as "waterproof") seem to last more than a couple of years when mounted on a rib console.

It seems that Rib owners are a constant revenue stream for marine electronics manufacturers! - They can put a man on the moon but they carnt seal a box of electronics from the powers of the Solent!

I would not buy a standard horizon. I have been through 4 CP 175's in the last 2 years. They fog and and the antennas go. Their VHF's are amazing but I would not go near their chartplotters.

Sell loads of SH equipment their service is good can only remember one return in hundreds sold with a fogging problem. Which they swapped out with a brand new unit. They have a 3 year cast iron warranty like to see other manufacturers follow that ! JG
