New Gopro Hero3 +

Just bought the new 3+ from gopro! Pretty much the same camera but lighter than the hero3 & just a smaller case. Only new things other than that are a few different modes in including a super wide angle view & a few different settings. The sound is much better by far! & also the battery life is much better than the hero3!

The camera quality compared to my old hero2 is also incredible for such a rugged, outdoor camera! It's crystal clear both filming & photos. The low light abilities Are also much better by a long shot!
The new case stops the lense fogging up which is great. I've yet to setup the photo/film setting though but should be cool when I do!

These are a few photos from today to put it through its paces. Was great playing in some surf around Swanage without a speed limit!

Films to follow..

Go Pro

Luke, How has the camera being performing since your last post. I see there was a post here about a sale on the Gopro 3 Black Edition and was wondering which was the better option....

The cameras been great! My girlfriend has the hero3 black and apart from the case, weight & a few different settings there isn't much difference in quality at all. The hero3 is defiantly more than good enough if you want to spend less.

The battery life's pretty good. Took mine & my girlfriends gopro out on the boat & my battery lasted about 30minutes longer. Think it was about 2/2.5hrs of photos and filming & on standby. It's reduced loads though if you turn the wifi on.

So am I right in assuming that the extra 30 minutes battery life is in your opinion not worth the additional £80ish for the 3+

Well it depends. The sound qyalityl is much better, better low light & slightly better quality due to the lens & new settings & longer battery. I much prefer the hero3 case because it has bigger buttons & is abit smaller.

For me I'd choose the hero3+ any day because it does perform better than the hero3 but it's whether you think the new small perks are worth the £40 extra.

Animal sell the hero3 for £324 as do currys. & the hero 3+ for £360

Guys save your money on the 3+ and just buy a hero 3 the + has a big problem with focusing on objects that aren't really close in.

GoPro Hero3+ Image Quality Problem

Hero3+ Black - Out of Focus from the factory - YouTube

If you worried about battery life on the hero 3. The 3+ Batteries fit in the 3

Also the 3+ has a shallower diving depth than the hero3.

Down to 40 metres vs 3's 60 metres
