Couple of years ago I purchased (from somewhere I've long forgot) an Osculati Night Eye searchlight. It has a three position switch...off, flood and spot. The lamp itself comes in 12 and 24v versions...this is supposedly the 12v version.
It's a nice looking thing...and the spot function is really good - bright, white and long range. However, the flood function is akin to a church candle...no range and a very yellow beam - almost as if the bulb is 24v running from a 12v supply.
So, I'm trying to take it apart to check...remove two screws from holding the two half casings together and...nothing. Try twisting, pulling, prising, levering, cursing, getting the wife to give it one of her looks...nothing. It's held by an internal something at the 12 o'clock position. Any more grunt in my attempts to release could be fatal.
The lamp can be seen in the Osculati catalogue
HERE at the top of page 100.
Any clues, anyone?
