Radar Reflectors

Does anyone else out there think it important for their RIB to be radar visible.
I just tried one of these new active systems (Sea-me) and I think they are bloody great!

Very important in Fog!
There is a good review of them in this months motor boats monthly.
"See me" came out very well but is £500...

The standard Tube type used by most ribs gave a pretty shocking account of itself which is rather concerning.

I think that although the active systems are very clever and have there place they are not much use as the only reflector on a rib.
The main issues are that they rely on electricity so will be unreliable they paint such a large area that they ‘hide’ all other boats in the area and they are not failsafe
A catch rain type reflector at about £30 is good value for money and works Well and the money you save you can spend on Fuel (or beer) Des
