Relocating the battery

Hi all,

On my Zodiac Pro 4,7 the battery is right at the back near the engine, where it is very exposed to water and not good for weight distribution. Hence I'm thinking of relocating it in the locker under the bench.

The standard Yamaha battery cables are 2m long, but I'm not sure if they have a 16 or 25mm2 section.

I need 3m câbles to put the battery under the bench, and I'm trying to find out whether I should use 25 or 35mm2 cables.

As the starter draws 100 amps (Yamaha 40hp), in theory I would need 35mm2 câbles, but I find them quite big.

What do you think?

I'd stick with 25mm2 cables. 35's are big for a 40hp

Where cables are concerned bigger is usually better going off the link PD posted the 25 is only just big enough personally id go with the 35mm so you have a little in hand
