Found these on ebay.

at £99 they are much cheaper than the normal ones you see in chandlers.

Wonder if they can take a good ribbing

I wonder about the control of these things. How do you keep the beam pointed in one direction when you're in a boat that's (always) moving on water that's (always) moving? Whatever hope you'd have with hand operated or joystick operated - I just don't see the Up a little/Left a little controls working out...

I had a Jabsco remote searchlight on the 6.5m. It was OK for scanning beaches or moorings when the boat was sationary. IMV a decent handheld is the only thing that'll help whilst under way. Also, I'd be dubious of the quality of the Ebay item.
