Fixed 25w vhf on boat with proper aerial
VHF with DSC on life jacket
PLBs in life jacket pouches for wife and I
Quite often I’m out with a 10yo child so like to be wearing the vhf and plb so if I go in I can a) talk to child on boat via vhf, b) summon help with DSC, c) go nuclear with PLB if needed
Pretty confident 10yo could recover me without running me down but comms in event of panic would be helpful
10yo also knows where the red button is on the fixed DSC VHF
Combined with flares, torch, spare lifejacket gas, med kits etc etc on boat
