No no no no no no!
No matter what boat, never work out what it costs in boat price + insurance + trailering + upgrades + maintainance!
Our little Ocean does some serious sea miles, we do all the servicing in our own workshop and all the equipment is sourced direct from the manufacturer; she saves us time and money because inter-island flights are so expensive PLUS it brings in survey and training revenue and we STILL would not do that sum.

You can start on that particular piece of math as soon as you tell us what you need all those shoes for....
*Pennies per mile* indeed! Here we were treating you like one of the lads and all the while you were a viper in our bosom!
Did Apollo tot the costs as he steered his blazing chariot through the Heavens? So too do we Ribsters blaze our routes across the Oceans (Ok, The Solent, some of you) and give no thought to base lucre

Impressive stuff, wow!
Just a note of caution though, the positionioning of the all round white light should be at a height of not less that 2.5 m above the gunwale & at least 1 m higher than the sidelights. In its current position the horizontal & vertical sectors which are obscured by the headlights, gps receiver & the active x will be quite significant (as they are very close to the light). When you are seen from another vessel in the sector in which the all around while light is obscured & the sidelights are visible you will (should) be interpreted as being a sailing vessel!

Zub - I think I understand - however we don't have anywhere else to put it and it's better than what was there before (not a fair arguement I appreciate!!) - which was an all in one combined unit - so all the same height.
Can you clarify what we need to do - or more to the point why does it matter - I'd like to make sure we get it as close to correct as humanly possible
TQ

In order to be best seen AND identified you need the all round white to be clearly visible and above the port and starboard ones (which are both fine as far as I can see).
The best solution would be a pole to hold the white one above the Echomax. That should give you a bit more separation and better all round vis.

Ahh okay - now I understand - will see what Darren can do - although I suspect until we add something else it will be difficult to achieve due to the now waterproof wiring

Well the spots will blind anybody within a 100 mile radius that coupled with the Active X that increases our size to that of a supertanker - I suspect the first night of fishing will we will cause a full scale alert for the local MOD!!!

I have seen very few RIBS that either do or could comply fully with all the dimensions given, the Aframe would be massive

That is an interesting point, the spots will illuminate the deck and tubes so well that your night vision will be beggared anyway!
Or have they installed flood lights now in the Solent, to go with the bramble bank service station and all weather retractable roof?

True, but it still makes sense to mount the lights high and clear.
I am prepared to bet a beer that KY's A frame changes design more than once before the start of summer '10!

I was having a similar problem with the vertical separation of my ARW & the R/G lamps.
Ended up that I re- wired the original "frame mount " (i.e where yours is) as a solo white (simple swap in the console to a separate switch), then parked another on the end of a long folding pole. Ended up replacing the switch with a 2- way centre off - one way does solo white, the other the full boona, theory being I won't need them all at once, so stops accidental confusing illuminations.
Theory being that 10W is better than 30 if you're under aux (therfore <7 knots & no charging) / need an anchor light. I toyed with swapping the bulb for an LED one, then realised that I'd be cheaper buying a bigger battery!
