Speaker Protection Bars

I am still trying to get my speakers sorted out.

Now, I have seen these things but only once before. They are stainless steel protection bars that go over the top of flush mounted speakers, to stop them getting accidentally kicked.

Anybody know where one can get them?

I suppose I could do.

Its really annoying when one has seen something that would do the job but you can't Google anything up. I have tried every combination I can think of: speaker protection bar(s); speaker kick bar(s); porthole protectors etc etc etc.

They aren't Stainless of plastic but may be of some use.

If you want Satinless one, you have to get them made I suspect. Not too difficult a peice of 3mm plate of the inside and outside diameter you want and heavy duty stainless "filler" welding rod for the mesh. Just get it welded up and bingo.

Thanks for that, Andy.

I have attached two pics of where we are thinking of putting the two speakers. The low positions might be too wet and the speakers are liable to get kicked in. I can't find speakers small enough to go in the higher position.

Poo!

Why can't you flush mount them to the back of the recess?

By the way where did you get the console from (issit a standard Avon one) and have you any other pics of it from some different angles?

I think because the void behind is going to be filled up with a built-in fuel tank.

They are Bembridge Outboards own consoles.

Thanks for looking.

The ones I remember where protecting a pair of cockpit speakers on a Nautors Swan 44. So maybe is a Swedish thing. Or are Swans made in Finland?

Have you looked at fitting a couple of st/st "long" door handles over them like B & Q do not sure what grade st/st it is or whether you'd get sufficient clearance beneath.

I see where your coming from. Not a bad idea. Thanks. Some of those cupboard handles are quite sexy, aren't they?

Swans are indeed from Finland. They have a pretty good 'parts' department. Try them I guess...
