Standard Horizon HX 370E and Standard Horizon CMP460

Does anyone have a Standard Horizon HX 370E and Standard Horizon CMP460. I am particularly interested in the handset. What it looks like and if it can take an ear piece.
The Standard Horizon web site has no details of the CMP460 and its capabilities.

I would have liked a speaker mic, but couldn't justify the cost - an HX370 plus mic is more than twice the cost of an HX270, so that's what I've ordered.

I doubt that the CMP460 has an earpiece socket, but there are a couple of other options for the HX370:

VC-24 Headset Microphone with VOX and PTT
VC-27 EARPIECE MICROPHONE VC-27 EARPIECE MICROPHONE

I don't think they are waterproof, but might be worth a try. Alternatively there may be some compatible options from other manufacturers.

Hi Biggles,

No the CMP460 does not have the option to add an ear piece, sorry.

As John mentioned there are a couple of headset option but neither are waterproof.

If you find a pic of the Icom HM125 mic for the M1v/M71 they look much liike the CMP406.

If you don't need the Licenced PMR channel option on the HX-370 you may want to look at the new HX-500.
Has the same socket as the HX-370, no PMR channels and is cheaper, SRP £139.

Hope that helps.

Hi Jon,

I have the Icom H125 so now have an idea of the HX kit. Is it the same size ?
Will look at the 500. Does that have the strobe light ? When will the 500 appear on the HX web site so I can get some more details ?

Hi Biggles,

The head unit on the HM125 and the CMP460 are very very much the same!

Yes the HX-500 has the strobe light built in.

Full details can be found on:-

www.standardhorizon.com
This is the US website, ours is being rebuilt as we speak!

All the best

Jon,

Couldn't find any details on the US site of the 500 but will keep an eye on the UK site for it when its upgraded. No rush.

Thanks.
