I'd give Land and Water Leisure / Marinescene in Penarth a call if you haven't already.

Just testing the engine in the severn just before High tide at Chepstow - just need to take the boat off the trailer have a 10 min blast whilst the bunks on the trailer are checked etc. Weekend afterwards probably down in Port Talbot area. When I was down in the bay on saturday I noticed a slip up the Taff not cbyc one but further up who owns that one? can you pay to launch from it?

Yep its
Channel View Centre
Jim Driscoll Way

Tel: 029 2037 8161
Email. channelviewcentre@cardiff.gov.uk

I use it regularly - think it is £6.10 to launch (and £5 refundable deposit).

Awesome slip and trailer/car parking. You need to show 3rd party insurance details and complete a quick questionaire, think it is open 10:00am to 7:30pm at the moment.

I'll be heading out to the bay and probably Flat/Steep holm for quick spin on Sat or Sun. Drop me a line next time your in the bay.

Any luck with the VHF?

Mike

If you have problems ordering with JGTech, then consider using Malthouse Marine (on this forum too). I bought my HX270E off them for the same price, inc. next day delivery.

I ordered at about 3:15pm and it was delivered next day at 10am - shame the wife had gone out though! so redelivered next day at 10am.

Looks like a robust piece of kit to have on my lifejacket.

Thanks to everybody who suggested retailers etc.

Will be buying stuff off most of you now I have checked out your websites and prices - Cheers all
