Standard Vertex HX260E
Went to look at a liquidation sale for a local shipping company yesterday, there's a Standard Vertex HX260E handheld radio there, seems to be in good nick and works ok, how much would one of these be worth second hand? I'm going to put in a reasonable bid but don't want to go too silly!
Doesn't seem to be a current model as far as I can tell?
Thanks
Stephen

Hi Stephen,
I own an HX270e, and it the 260 is anything like as good, you'll love it! A 270e brand new will cost you around £100 at present, so adjust accordingly!

I guess the 260 is the previous model? Not worth more than about £50 then if you can get a new one of the new model for £100 even if it will cost another £50 to get it here!!!
At present I use a normal 2m VHF which "also does" the marine band and carry it in an Aquapac but if I can get a proper waterproof handheld I'll make a bracket on the console to carry it then I have a radio again
Thanks

Hi Stephen
Yes the 260 was a previous model, looks a tad like the Entel!
If it works its has to be worth £50 of anyone's money but if you can get it cheaper then all the better.
Batteries still available.
All the best

Thanks Jon
£50 or so was about what I thought I might bid, not worth going over that just in case I have to buy a new battery or something, from my experience that is likely to be another £50 which would have bought a new radio
