swapping A65 for C80

I'm thinking of swapping the Raymarine A65 on my rib, for a Raymarine C80. The C80 is presently fitted in another boat and is a 2005 model, I'm wondering if the swop will be straight forward, obviously a bigger hole, but will the C80 work with the digital module presently fitted in the rib? there is only a year of difference in the supply of both these units, so I'm hoping the job will be plug and play... but you never know. Any words of wisdom much appreciated.

Job sorted, the only difference is the DSM250 module has be upped to the new DSM300 (for the E series) so is not relevant to the fit,all should plug and play.

I am pretty sure my C80 is running a DSM300 - they just changed over when I bought it.

After it was fitted one of the kids broke the GPS mast so it's been fitted for nearly three years and I've never seen it work...but I'm sure it's great

I use a 435i,running off a seperate motorcycle battery (diodes and stuff) mainly because I had a circuit breaker play up and all the electronic stuff stopped working, at night (pitch),raining, force whatever. I like the independance of it.

Going to make a stainless panel for the exiting hole.

Got a raystar 125 antenna as well if you still need one?

ps I made a stainless panel to cover a hole once, my passenger years later still keeps bringing up the scar on his hand where we caught a wave a bit funny and he sliced himself open! No sharp edges but he still managed it!

Just a note to anyone reading this and unfortunately listening to me,the C80 will not work with the DSM 25 or the GPS module for the A65 (these are stand alone) I found out just prior to getting into the consol with my rusty wood saw..

I knew that but you threw me with the DSM250 bit!!!

Sorry I wasn't a bit more alert and didn't read all the post properly.

Best bit is to flog the lot and buy a DSM300 for the C80.
