Tacho's! / Boat Show

Hi,

I am looking to fit a tacho to my Console as I like knowing what my RPM's are.
I DO NOT want to fit an 80mm version as it's only a 'little' boat! & not much space on/in the console but are the smaller tacho's worth it?
Anyone out there with a 54mm Tacho?
Can you read it @ speed?

Will they be selling these at the boat show? - I've never been yet but will be there on Saturday.

Pete

If you have the Humber console you can fit an 80mm tacho in no problem. I would recommend a reasonable sized one simply so it is easy to glance at when getting bounced around and even more importantly when someone else is driving. Not everyone understands or cares that they are overrevving the motor!
This shows where mine is, it is very visible through the wheel spokes but doesn't take up any room or interfere with inside the battery compartment.

Pete7,
They look quite cool!
I'd forgotten about LCD displays.
Don't like the fact that once the battery is dead you throw it away though.

Rupert Bear,
Sadly, The diamensions of my Console are a little smaller!
The Steering wheel mount takes most of the 'angled' space & on the top of the console are my fishfinder & GPS, hence looking for a 'smaller' tacho.
My friends know that if they over rev it, then don't come back!

$36 for 5 years, you won't own the boat when the battery needs changing,
