Transducer Location

Hi all. Any fishermen out there?
I am having a new rib built want to install or have installed a transducer for a Hummingbird Helix 10. Any suggestions? My fall back position is to simply mount off a bracket of the transom. I'm going to put a bracket there anyway to mount a downrigger. Just wondering if there was a better way.

Do you want side or down scanning?

If you do then transom mount is best option.

Do you have access to under the deck?

If you do and don't want side or down scan then you can get an airmar in hull which you stick to the hull below the deck. This way you can't see a transducer at all and no external holes.
