waterproof connectors 12 volt

I am looking for recommendations for ip68 connectors

I want to connect my battery to socket on side of console and then put the correct plug on an intelligent charger.

I also want to connect up inline socket on the leads that cut off to be reconnected ...

any thoughts?

Bulgin Buccaneer (or as packaged by Index Marine with all the bits). There's one with a flat-ish deckmount flange. Needs about a 20mm hole for the body of the connector. Easy screw connections in plug and socket.

2 pin (without checking) around £15. They come with waterproof caps on retainers as well. Should be fine for normal charging current.

Could also look at Dri-Plug range.

There are inline Buccaneer ones as well but for there's lots of other makes available.

You talk about an intelligent charger. If you do not already have one, check out the CTEK ones which also have accessory leads which may do as you need. The accessory leads are I believe IP65 rated which may or may not be up to your necessary use that might require IP68.

They are, but make sure you pack the screws the cables are secured in with waterproof grease when you assemble them.

On a real computer now so can wax a little more lyrical with a decent keyboard....

Yes, Nos- spot on - it's the "extras" socket with the white lid here in the UK. "secondary" power for things like reversing lights, caravan battery / fridge etc.

Random wiring diagram grab from google -
Tow Bar Electrics

If you have a 13 pin socket on your car, take the charging cable from pins 10 (+ve split charge) & 13 (earth for pin 10 etc)
