Web cams as action cam...
...Does anyone know if this is possible? My thoughts were to use an adaptor between USB and my camcorder.

We have a waterproof digital camera and was pondering fitting a mount for it on the console so that videos could be taken while on the go. No idea if it would have worked and currently boatless!

Web cams mostly have no storage (they use the PC hard drive) and are powered via the PC.
Not sure about using a webcam as an "extension cam" to a cam corder.
I have a vision of a dell PC strapped to the A frame, with a petrol genny on the back deck and a 240volt 6 way extension lead connecting the 2
this looks interesting.
Water Proof cam with GPS

I have my eye on a HD Webcam for my new PC and was trying to justify the heafty pricetag. If however I could connect this to my DV Camcorder then the price would be more viable and I'd have something that would be far more flexible.

Oregon Scientific Action Cam 2 in Morrisons reduced to £29.98, bought one for my son, but won't be able to try it out before the weekend.
Waterproof to 3metres and comes with lots attachments.
Hope this helps.
Brian.

I have checked my local morrisons and no luck, i have ordered a MDV 80 clone, but noticed these after, they look more waterproof than the MDV 80 clone. Class 6 mini sd card needed.

I was checking up on eBay there and they have another version of that Oregon scientific camera, takes an sd card which will give u in the region of 2 hours video and audio.. A d I think it's the same one, it's submersible up to 3 metres or so.. ( hopefully u won't need tha unless you're diving!!) .. I think it's in the region of 160 pounds or so.. Looks pretty cool.. It's even got a little LCD screen on the back to view what you've recorded and it comes with a few brackets.. There's one for your bicycle handlebars which I'm sure could be used on top of an a-frame!! I think that there's a HD version of the camera on the market too!
