Which PLB?

considering buying a PLB fro when I'm out on my own.

Isthere much difference, or are there things to look for

Two models seem popular and at reasonable cost:

1) 2017 OCEAN SIGNAL RESCUE ME 406 PLB1

2) McMurdo Fast Find 220 PLB

In no particular order

Any advice on these, or others?

Thanks,

LT

I have a fastfind 210 & an ACR resqlink. I was warned off the ocean signal due to issues with the antenna snapping. I bought the ACR last year swayed by the fact that it floats. The Ocean Signal is tiny & I wonder how easy it would be to operate in a panic with cold hands wearing an inflated LJ

The fast find needed a new battery. The ACR was on special at the boat show at not much more than the cost of the battery replacement in the Fastfind, so I bought one. I then found a battery replacement service for £79.99 so I had the battery replaced on the fastfind (are you following this[emoji6]?) so now I have 2 PLBs, one in each LJ, mine & Mrs PD's. Can you have too many?[emoji848]

I am the same, The Fast Find 220, in the floating case, in the pouch on the rear of my life jacket all the time - most of the time i forget its there.

I see where the confusion arose now! Missus willk's LJ has a small plastic "If Found" tag inside it.

Back? What use would a LJ without a bladder be?
