Wiring and cleaning connections

I have a couple of intermitant faults, sometimes my vhf seems to lose the position data from the chartplotter and also my fusion sterio sometimes the sound disappears, seems like dirty connections, anyone recomend any products for cleaning wiring connections.

Rather than cleaning I'd replace any suspect connections and/or wiring, not expensive and you've dealt with the situation properly

Could be rotten copper - it reduces the conductivity of the wire and would be noticed when you put some pressure on the system - say when playing music or TX on VHF. The copper will be blackened and brittle so easily checked.

If it's just loose connections (testable) then I'd use glued crimps or solder and shrinkwrap.

You can get contact cleaner. WD-40 make one. Once clean, you can then spray it with ACF-50 or similar.

Make sure all cables are clipped properly and can't swing about as this will shorten their lifespan.
