I checked the boat last night. I actually used 25mm. from memory I picked that as it was on special offer.

I once got stung for buying more expensive car stereo cable when I stuck an extra 80amps of amps in the boot. cost me another £100 back then. Cables seem cheap nowadays

Double crimps and double stacked cables, and eyelets are non compliant in electrical inspection, for that exact reason across many regs. Admiteably this is just a boat, with the family on, miles offshore.

When you say eyelets, do you mean ring terminals?

My Toyota Landcruiser, not renowned for its fragility, is guilty of suffering from all three of these issues for the earth returns but I do subscribe to the concept if not the practicality.
