Yamaha 6y8T-11 Tacho wiring
Hi I have a 2005 EFI Yamaha 50 with an old damaged digital Tacho gauge that connects with yellow ignition, ground and green rev sender wire only. Can I use the later 6Y8T-11 Tacho which has just a four pin block, red + Black - and a mid blue wire and a white wire?
If I connect the block via a bar and connect the ignition (yellow) and black to the bar, the new gauge operates but has no readings can I get the trim and rev to work?. I presume this gauge is only compatible with the ECU of a later outboard or can I wire it to suit the 2005 engine?
