With the 2012 Season approaching, the number of people looking for work afloat is increasing, especially with it being our Olympic Year!
There have been
some recent threads regarding working commercially and some of the qualifications you need to enter the commercial world.
At
Stormforce Coaching, we have prepped hundreds of candidates for the Advanced Certificate of Competence exam, and have hit upon a preparation package that works. The package is 5 days long, and over the first two days you will complete the
RYA Advanced Powerboat Course. The next two days are spent undertaking our bespoke
Advanced CoC Exam Preparation, which involves two night passages, and more skills and drills with an instructor. We find this leads to a much higher pass rate on the Advanced Exam itself.
As a package price, we offer a discount when both courses are combined. The RYA Advanced Course is £328 on it's own, and the exam prep is £433. Book both together for
£731, and you will be well on your way to working as a commercial small powerboat skipper.
Our next five day package is on the
21st - 25th April, ready for the upcoming season.
All the support courses are also available at Stormforce Coaching, including
RYA First Aid (3rd April is the next),
RYA Sea Survival (4th April), and the
RYA VHF Short Range Certificate (9th April).
