On Wednesday 12th January at 1130 Stormforce Coaching are pleased to be launching their new "12-Volt Marine Electrics Course" at the London Boat Show. Aimed at yachtsmen and power boaters the course uncovers some of the mystery of the on board electrics and helps boat owners trouble shoot and affix repairs themselves.
" In this day and age of electronic based navigation, the safety benefits of being able to troubleshoot electrical problems at sea are obvious, as is the cost saving of being able to do some of this work yourself."
This one day course is taught by Campbell de Burgh, long standing yachtsman and the author of "Essential Electrics: A Skipper’s Guide to Electrical Systems". Both he and Doug will be on the Stormforce Coaching stand (C86) for the launch, to answer questions and demonstrate the simulator/boards they have designed for use with this course. Although the course is shore based it is very hands on and they have built several training boards that features many of the common electronics on board.
This course is intended to compliment the existing range of one day yacht and powerboat maintenance courses run by Stormforce Coaching, namely the RYA Diesel, BSAC Outboard and their home grown Rigging & Deck Hardware Course.
The course was successfully piloted during 2010 and the first date for 2011 is full already.
Signed copies of Campbell's book
