RYA Motor Cruising Instructor Course

We only run a handful of RYA Motor Cruising Instructor Courses each year and we have space on one next week.

The course is 4 days and successful candidate become qualified to teach the

• RYA Start Motor Cruising Course

• RYA Helmsman's Course

• RYA Day Skipper Power Course

• and carry our RYA ICC Assessments for power

at RYA Training Centres.

There are various pre requisites

• Minimum age 18 years

• Working knowledge of radar and diesel engines

• Experience of boat handling with modern twin engined leisure craft

• Hold a commercial RYA Yachtmaster Offshore Certificate of Competence (Motor)

• In date First Aid Certificate

• RYA Membership (join here)

• RYA PPR Certificate (Professional Practices & Responsibilities)

• Have passed the online RYA Cruising Instructor online pre course knowledge check*

* This is a free online course on learning how to teach. There are 2 open book online tests. Part 1 checks you have learnt the contents of the short course on learning styles, Part 2 confirms your supporting knowledge level is still at Coastal Skipper. You can complete the short online course and tests after you have booked but they should be done before your courses starts with us.

Motor Cruising Courses are run throughout the year and the qualification is used globally.
