Whilst nothing directly to do with us directly, we were made aware of a course to be run in Chichester in October. We found it to be interesting and worth while and all our skippers have attended. Details below;-
"To become a WiSe accredited operator you’ll need to attend a training course with us.
The course fee is currently £60 + VAT. The course is classroom based, with presentations and discussions on topics such as current marine wildlife legislation, good boat practice around wildlife, animal identification and behaviour, and specific species or habitat or habitat sensitivities pertinent to your area. Currently, full-course materials provided to attendees include: a CD with all legal and species information, including relevant Codes of Conduct,, together WiSe logos for use in your promotional material in a variety of formats, together with a WiSe DVD, WiSe flag and two stickers for your boat. You will also be entitled to have details of your business and activities listed on our website.
Remember, only the operator who attends the course gets the WiSe accreditation, not the boat or business. So if you have more than one boat skipper, you might want to consider sending each of them on a course.
We shall be holding a course at 1000 on the 27th of October 2012 at:
Chichester Harbour Conservancy
The Education Centre
Dell Quay
PO20 7EE
