very nice. Looks like we are within days of each other. I couldn't swing new tubes and only have a 250. It will be interesting to see how our boats perform.

Nice job.
The spare tires in the before shot on trailer are a bit rough.

Thanks!
It's been a long project.
The best 733 I've built so far.
You should see the other 3 tires!

You had a 300 on your previous right? What was the cruise speed and fuel burn for best economy?

This boat is sold.
With the 300 etec on my other 733 it was about 12gph at about 30 knots so 2.5 Nm per gallon.
1.8 Nm per gallon flat out at 45 knots.

If I'm within 10 or 20% of all those numbers I'll be very excited. Probably won't hit the same top speed with 50 less hp but cruise and fuel economy like that would be would be great.

JV....You should see similar numbers with the 250
If fuel economy is so important….. I think the Hurricane 630 and Hurricane 633 are often overlooked for the 733.
They get excellent fuel economy of close to 4nm per gal at 30 knots and are every bit as capable as the 733. They just aren’t quite as big and beefy looking.

it's not that important but I want the best I can out what I have. I don't expect it to run like my old Honda 90 that just didn't seem to use gas. I want an ocean going tank (not gas tank) first, but need some range.

The 6 series make a lot of sense. Easier to trailer, easier on the pocket book etc.
My diesel repower is killing me right now. So close but pushing to get the last bits together is going to break me. If I make it through without a nervous breakdown I'll let you know.
Hoping for a 6 gal per hour cruise in the mid 20's kts and a 9-10 gal per hour 30-22+kts cruise range. What I've seen with the old 6bt was 3+ nmpg at cruise.
But is all this worth the complexity of diesel? Right now I'm not sure whether I'd go through this again.

yep. I'm right there with you. The harder I work to get it finished and in the water the more I have to do, very frustrating.
I stuck with gas and an outboard because that is what I know and can't afford to pay somebody else to do any work.

250 Suzuki works great on these boat.
You'll be happy with it and see just over 40 knots flat out.

Had the 733 out for a nice run in the sunshine yesterday.
The 300 Yamaha is a great motor for this boat.
2 people and light fuel saw 47 knots flat out.
4000 RPM 31 knots and 10.7 GPH
4250 RPM 34 knots and 12 GPH

Gorgeous.
She floats really high in the water too.
Great numbers on the speed and fuel.

I'm wondering. On the newer numbered zodiac hulls and also willards if known, did they modernize the construction at all?
I know they moved to infusion at some point and wondering about form core bottoms instead of solid glass etc. Optimized layup or other lightening measures.
With the single outboard, you have both a lighter mechanical package as well as more flotation with the full float transom extension.
