Available Avon 5earider 5.4m - Southern California
EDIT: Meant to put put in for sale section. Mods can move if they choose.
I'm losing storage for this project at the end of the month. Unfortunately, I'm going to need to sell it. I plan on getting it up and running to sea trial it in the next couple of weeks. PM if you have any interest in it. I don't have a price yet as I'm still adding/buying things for it.
-5.4m Avon Searider, year unknown but I will check and update when known. Not registered yet but will do so prior to sale. Will have CA title (I've registered before in CA with just a bill of sale but this will make it easier on the buyer)
-Single axle unbraked trailer, 2" ball, total weight ~1,500 lbs, new bearings in last 6 months, not currently registered but could for negotiated $. Also, if you want to pick up with your own trailer, I could deduct what I paid for this one.
-Tubes professionally refurbished, all old rubstrake removed, new dark grey rubstrake installed in original Avon Searider design/pattern
-Yamaha 90 hp, two-stroke, freshwater (drove to Fresno, CA to purchase), ~100 hours, perfect compression
-New Yamaha 703 sidemount controls, new Teleflex shift and throttle cables
-Updated Teleflex rotary helm (thanks to tworototurbo!), new Teleflex steering cable
-Stripped and sanded console, patched all old holes, painted with two part poly
-New upholstery on two person jockey seat, new marine ply seatback (sealed in epoxy) and Starboard seat base.
Coming Soon:
-All new electrical: battery, battery box, marine grade tinned wiring, switch panel, etc.
-3" LED lit flushmount compass for top of console
-Standard Horizon VHF

Selling point - On its current trailer, it fits in a standard garage here in my condo complex.

Slow work... But it's been convenient to get stuff done while it's easily accessible in the garage. Some things done over the last month.
Electrical in the console:

The battery is not moving! For footman loops and a heavy duty strap.
No wing nuts - stainless nyloc nuts.
Also, I've now been told by numerous people that 2 awg was complete overkill for the battery wiring. Everything connection has adhesive heat shrink covering it.

Made this to cover the cabling on the back deck. Also, ordered some spiral wrap to tidy things up from where this ends back to the engine.

Well, overkill is a lot better than underkill...
Nice looking boat. Should sell quickly, I'd think.

Thanks guys. I hope so. We'll see how it goes as there are two other 5.4m Seariders available in San Diego and this one will be priced on higher end - it's going to take finding the right buyer. (to be priced upon me successfully seat trialing it)
A little pressure has been taken off of me as I've been able to fit it in the garage but we'll see how much longer the HOA will keep putting up with my jeep outside (wife keeps her spot in the garage, I'm outside!)

I started the engine last week for the first time. Fired right up. Smoked a little at since I ran it on 50:1 because I wanted to pull the hose to verify that the oil injection pump was working - it was! (so, with the oil injection hose attached, it was running 25:1)
The plan is to sea trial it this weekend. I ordered a new 18 gallon Moeller tank but it won't be here in time - for the time being, going to just run on a little 3 gallon tank.

What is a HOA? and why do they care about where you park your boat/ jeep?

HOA = Home Owners Association. It's at the top of the list of the worst things Americans have invented. If you live in a development that has one they have rules on everything you can do with the appearance of your house and yard. AND you have to pay them for that privilege, it's a legal part of purchasing the home.

Yep, horrible to deal with. I live in what amounts to a town home - one story, only one shared wall with my neighbor but it's classified as a condominium since I don't specifically own the dirt under my residence (I own a 1/64 of all of the land under the 64 units, the open space, pool, clubhouse, etc). They charge me separately for communal costs (landscaping, water, trash pickup, pool maintenance) but they also try to tell you how many pets you can own, what color you can paint your front door, that you can't park in your own driveway, and so on.
I want a house in the country like yours Jason! The wife and I have been looking for the last year but it's hard to find anything staying while staying close to work, etc.

Take the worst nosy, busybody, minds everyone's business but theirs neighbor you can imagine and then give them a little bit of authority... then add 10 more of them.
We have rules out here in the country(I'm a mile from city limits). I can't raise pigs or turkeys and I can only have like 4 large-hooved animals or 8 small hooved animals.

I bet there are also some rules on the discharge of a firearm but less so than if you were within the city limits or living across the pond.
