avon 5.4 on GSA auction - info on condition
There is an Avon 5.4 being offered at auction on the US GSA web site today that looks good in the picture but includes no details on condition. If you're planning to bid you may be interested in this report, provided today by the property custodian:
"....The boat itself is in poor material condition, and is really only suitable for scrap or for a source of spare parts. The sponson set is severely holed on the underside, and the fiberglass hull is severely waterlogged. The outboard engine has extensive salt water damage, and many parts have seized.
As the Government Property Custodian for this small boat, it is my responsibility to advise that the boat, in its present material condition, is no longer suitable or safe for use on the water -- it is suitable for scrap use only."
