Boat rental on Lake Meade
HI, we're a party of 3 heading to Nevada this summer. Can anyone give any advise on boat rental on Lake Meade. I don't suppose I'll be able to get a rib, or any waves for that matter.
thanks

Doubt you will get a RIB. Google lake Meade there are about 4 marinas. Yes, you will get waves if the wind blows, up to 3-4 foot, it is a huge lake in two sections Have spent a lot of time on Lake Meade, it is great. Nearest/nices marina to Vegas is Calville Bay. Superb. It will be hot.

correction
Lake meade is not a huge lake. Those have names like Michigan, Huron, Superior, etc. Anything else is a small lake.
That being said, I drove through Vegas earlier this year and found lake meade to be quite a place, should be an interesting boating experience. Much better than Elephant Butte here in NM. Good luck.

Simply a matter of perspective. The man lives in Scotland so Lake Meade will be a huge lake to him. Obviously, to those of us that live in N. America it is not.

Thanks for the advice
Hi, I left this a few days to see what advice there was. Thanks Linda, I guess you coverered in a oner as there was no other comments on marinas.
In Scotland we have lochs (and one lake), but the inland ones tend to be narrow and long (max about 30 miles). I've looked at Lake Meade on Google and it should be fun.
Thanks again

Hi Linda. We're there for 2 weeks in July. We've been before, so have some idea what to expect. Any suggestions you have, especially you entertain my 14year old son, would be greatfully received.
Thanks again

Ok you have two weeks. if it were me and you want to spend time on the water then rent a houseboat. I thing the min. is three days. You can get a 30 footer with generator and a/c, BBQ, etc etc. that is rigged to tie up to a secluded beach ( avoid mud, been there done that). reserve the boat, pick up steak, beer, etc at s/market and you will have a wonderfull 3 days and see most of the lake. Echo bay ( or similar) does a great job. You can also rent a small spped boat to tow behind. to explore the many coves and inlets.
Cheers.
PS. It will be hotter than a freshly screwed goat in a pepper patch in July so be well prepared.
