I would be worried driving a boat through that lot, in case I caught one with the prop. Amazing sight!

I was driving an RN rib on fishery protection duties at the top of the bay of biscay about 11 years ago and this happened to us. I was terrified that an 8 foot dolphin would land on my head as they were all jumping about after the tuna. We were being splashed as they landed right around the boat...awesome memory but not enjoying the moment.

Weather forecast is in the 80's this coming weekend, so planning on heading out and trying to get some video for myself.
Never seen a pod that big, but usually plenty of smaller groups around
cheers Dal

Once had a pod of several hundred common dolphin approach and go past us while sitting off Point Pinos in Monterey. Two whale watching boats were desperately trying to intercept the line-abreast dolphins; the group of our three RIB's kind of pissed them off by repeatedly jumping ahead of the dolphins and letting them swarm past. I don't think they ever did get a close view. Pretty spectacular.
