Variety of places tbh.... There's a good Chrysler parts seller on Ebay, my friend owns a motor factors and never seems to struggle with most stuff, for dealer only (and if not in a rush) my bro lives in States (handy re Mercury outboard parts too), and I have another wj which is stripped for parts / as a donor for the other WJs....

Never had an issue, but then I've not yet needed anything non service for the wk.... Had a flyer left on the windscreen when the wk was down working Cardiff Marina few weeks ago, that was for a Welsh independent Chrysler supplier, plenty out there.

'Apparently' I 'have' to sell a wj as 5 jeeps is too many  My view is that with 5 at least a couple will be working at any one time

You must love jeeps and a damn sight more lucky than me buddy with grand cherokees.

I had no luck with mine, owned 59 plate with 56k FSH for 3 days and needed a lot of money spent on it after i took it to jeep dealer for faulty self level headlamps, lot of errors logged and maybe a turbo issue as it was blowing smoke quite a lot. Dealer took it back and gave me refund and old car back thankfully.

Bought another one, 2010 with 54k miles, to quote-it was beyond economical repair when they PDI it, deposit refunded. 5 pages of error logs from transmission errors, headlamp sensors, glowplug module, dimming mirrors knackered to name but a few. This was from the main jeep dealer this one and different place to who looked at my previous one i did own. Car was shipped off to somewhere else in trade.

I found a 3rd one, 60 plate with 44k on it and day before i went to pick it up got dash error, needed a new transmission or tranny sensors replaced, sensor they said was 800 quid and no guarantee of a fix so another one fell through.

Amazing i "buy" 3 grand cherokees 3.0 crd overland models, all realtively new with less than 60k on them and they were all knackered to varying degrees, paid absolute top money and all from different dealers too.

If anyone is in market for grand cherokees then pm me and i can give you the reg numbers as these 3 are doing the rounds somewhere.

That is a lot of bad luck!

I really do like the Jeeps, great off road and great vfm IMO.... I was a landrover man for many many years but after just one too many reliability issues bought my first jeep about 12 years ago and haven't looked back.... Could just be lucky but don't find them any worse than any of my cars.... Helps I have lots of friends in the trade perhaps....

Must admit I stayed away from the Wks for years due to all the electronics (relatively / compared to wj) but have been very pleased with the 3.0crd (bought 55k, now nearer 70k)..... This hemi is 60k..... They have a tough working life with us, not even the Japanese stuff us reliable these days.... Could tell you many a horror story about friends Nissan Nivara....

Plus, I just love that hemi burble.....

Traded mustang get convertible for 2014 grand Cherokee overland. Two kids = end of sports cars for moment. Truck looked naked so bought boat to tow

Only had truck for 2 years so far but have found it reliable. Hemi is lovely sound!

To be fair though dealer said "air suspension ? But extended warranty!!!!"

Thread hijack. I swapped out my Merc GL for a Touareg R line 262 with a few toys. I've had it six months and have covered 16,500 miles. It's a terrific car but the fuel economy is miles off compared to manufacturers advice.

I went to do a cash deal but was swayed by a manufacturer supported contract hire deal which was ridiculously cheap. Having just taken a hit of 70 pence per mile depreciation on a Porsche i was also keen to ring fence motoring costs for two years!!!

If you have any questions on the Touareg let me know

Send a message via MSN to Stoo
I drive a 5.7 litre Chev Tahoe to pull my 590 Hurricane. It does a great job, but sucks fuel... So I just compare it the boat. Then I feel like I'm driving a TDI Golf.
