Holy December Tropical Storm
Our weather situation is evolving this morning (going downhill) with a system trying its best to get cranked up NE of here.
.TODAY AND TONIGHT....TROPICAL DISTURBANCE LOCATED THIS MORNING TO
THE NORTHEAST OF THE NORTHERN LEEWARD ISLANDS IS FORECAST TO MOVE
ACROSS THE LOCAL AREA THIS AFTERNOON THROUGH TUESDAY MORNING. THIS
FEATURE IS EXPECTED TO BRING SIGNIFICANT SHOWER ACTIVITY ACCOMPANIED
WITH THUNDERSTORMS AND WINDY CONDITIONS WITH GUSTS UP TO 40 MPH OVER
LAND AREAS AND EVEN HIGHER OVER THE LOCAL COASTAL WATERS.
I measured a gust here an hour ago at 55mph. This pales of course when compared to the power of the North Pacific and North Sea but we were certainly standing down from this weather here, a month ago. I suspect my ever shakey power provider to go offline later today, or at least my wires here in the mountains to give it up. Wind damage however is secondary to water and I just hope this isn't going to be one of those 12 inches of rain in two hour deals!!!
No track has been posted as the low has not achieved closed circulation but...were I in the Bahamas or SE U.S. I'd look over my shoulder in the next day or so....
