2000 model boat and motor
Ribeye 725s with a Yamaha 150 TRP
40 Knots flat out, I was thinking it would be faster but I'm happy with the boat and the TR props are amazing at getting the boat on the plane from a standing start in 3 seconds.. But this could be the boat design helping.

how fast is your rib?
I don't often run flat out, I hate hearing an engine screaming its max.
I did run it flat out the other day and managed 41knts.
To me top speed means nowt, willy waving rights, I'd far rather ride and comfort than sheer speed.

Top speed (via GPS) is 24mph / 20.8 knots, top speed with the missus, 7mph (limited by her comments on ride comfort).
2010 Zodiac Futura Mark IIC Alu (3.7m SIB) with 2013 Honda BF20D (4-stroke) with stock 4-blade prop (9.25" diameter x 10"). This is 1-up with several hundred pounds of crap aboard. That speed is exhilarating and a little scary. Engine is around 5500 RPM (hard to read the digital tach while being bounced around and looking out for larger waves). I'm sure that with a nice 3-blade stainless prop I'd get a few more mph out of it, but this boat isn't made for that kind of speed on the choppy waves of Puget Sound.

Impressive 59 knots.
But the fuel gauge is much quicker than the gps readings

You need to chuck the missus off as it will save weight
On a serious note I reckon your boat should be one of the quickest off the shelf / consumer rib here on ribnet and I would love to know what its top speed is as I must admit I have a bit of a soft spot for hyrdofoils

7.2 ballistic / yam 250 HPDI
We've had 50 knts but the fuel consumption is in excess of 90li/hr (gauge only reads upto 90 LPH). It's got 10% more rpm but my bank balance hasn't got the nerve.
Much prefer 40 knts / 55 LPH, far more civilised pace per pound !!

If the sea conditions allow it, my "cruise" speed is 45, just for the fun. Sometimes 30-40 knots with more waves and a hard ride. However, unless I manage to ride the tops of the waves I have to drop to a slow 20.

Your speed observations are similar for my 7.2 ballistic / 250 single.
She loves going fast but like you say when you can't skim from wave to wave you have to drop from 30/40 down to 20. This only happens in quite significant waves, however.
25knts seams an unpopular speed with this hull.

7m zodiac, 48mph @ 5800 rpm. Suzuki 250. I don't recall GPH but I think it was in excess of 20gph. Much better doing 35mph@11.25gph.

That's insane!
I'll bet you kept it going for a couple of miles to try and reach 60 though or was your ring twitching excessively at that point?

Wackwoody - I too would like to know just how fast it does go, so I will temporarily "chuck the missus out" as you suggest

My recently rebuilt Pacific 22 has a Ford Sabre turbo 6 cylinder 250 BHP and a Hamilton jetdrive. I don't have the pump setup for full power yet as it is still running in, but have managed 27 Kts @ 2000 RPM, 1 Bar boost. in general use whilst supporting the Moth Worlds in Hayling Bay used 10-15 litres per hour.
I don't expect it will do much more than 30 Kts once run in. It weighs around 2.5 Tonnes, so whilst being a bit slothlike, is very comfortable in the rough stuff.

I think there is somewhere. Average was about 1-1.5L per mile for an average 5.5 to 7m rib with petrol outboard and deep V

It's best not to know, I turn the display to temp and water pressure etc, far less pain.
