As one can imagine having last been in service by a government agency, there are a lot of items that were not exactly done as most of us would when things needed fixing. The console looks like a hunk of Swiss cheese, bow locker is missing, and the bolster is incomplete. First step is going to be to take lots of photos then completely disassemble the boat so we can start from the ground up. The good news is we have a couple other ribs to play with while we refurb this one.

Ok so I bought it as a stripped boat no power. It had twins but I am planning on a single( brand not yet determined) on an extension. This is a much less produced model than the 630 and there are no spec sheets readily available for it.
I did not find it. It found me actually.( long story) This particular has a pointed bow over the 630 which is more squared off. There are also squared bow H640's as well. I did find that this boat weighs about 600 lbs more than a H630. I'll be happy to share any more info that I find.

Cheers

Nice boat! what i wanted but ended up with a 530.

I almost bought a 630 and a 640 on separate occasions. Did A bit of research back then, getting a bit hazy but if I remember correctly the 630 was designed and built in he United States (pointed bow like at 530/540) and the 640 was Canadian ( square bow like 733). Or maybe it was the other way around. Pretty much the same boat with different tubes.

I think the 633 was the holy grail, a 630 with an outboard bracket instead of the sloped transom, lots more deck space. Never actually seen one though.

Both of the 6 series boats I was considering were equipped with twin 90 yam 4 strokes.

Other way around...the 640's have the pointed bow and are holdovers from the original Lucas Hurricane 640's...

Yes I think it is the one that was on EBay although that is not where I got it from. Thanks for the offer on the T-top. I might be swapping out the console. This one has seen better days. Someone welded a shelf to the rails by the windshield and really made a mess of it. A good friend own a fab shop so he is gonna have a look and see how much work it will take to clean it up.

tworotor, if u are giving the t top away I would love to grab it, it may be worth the price of shipping for me, I was thinking of having one made but would love to get one made for it. feel free to message me and we can talk, thanks.

Also cgoing, why are you mounting a bracket on the boat, is it solely for the extra deck space? Will it affect handling in any way? will you have a full bracket made up to copy the hull and chines or just an extention. Just curious. thanks

640 build

No worries on the T-top. I am probably going to change consoles. I have a new console and T-top combo available to me at a great price that has more vertical surface area for a Chartplotter.

As far as the bracket goes, I was looking at more of a hull extension to improve handling. the deck space is limited by the molded in transom well but that make go under the knife once I look into how exactly the area under it is layed out.
I've got a vision in my head, that the voices in my head are encouraging. We'll see how it all shakes out. First step is going to be to get the whole thing stripped and cleaned.

Cheers, Chris

Consider it yours. I will PM you some more pics and measurements so maybe you can get a decent shipping quote from Uship. Do you have one of these hurricane consoles already? I know there are at least a couple variations of them. Im not sure if they slightly changed dimensions at all over the years but Im sure you can make it work.

Chris, looking forward to see what console you put on there. I will most likely be changing out to something different too.

Tubes have been removed along with the fuel tank and console. The hull is in better shape than I originally thought and won't need as much work as we assumed.
