A lot of work and a few good men go a long way!

They sure have, our tub guy is really good. He fixed all the leaks and reconditioned them then we painted them yellow and we have some good looking tubes now for a grate price.

Starting up on this one again.

Ok, sorry i have been focusing on the Willard 730 for a while but im back on the 640. I made a new starboard insert today to cover the old cutouts in the dash. Dash layout in the days to come.

733 hull?

do you know would that extension bracket fit on a 733?

have been interested in converting i/o hurricane 733 to outboard bracket.

Sorry No.

If we had a hull we could make one for you but im not sure the strakes are the same on the 733 and the willard. Since we extend the strakes into the bracket we need to match the hull.

733 transom extention

Thanks for the up date ryan on your build. Been wondering how it has been going. Currently rebuilding a 640 and have gone a slightly different route. On the 733 extention, I would suggest contaction Robert Fouder at Sea Master Services, in Dartmouth Nova Scotia, rfunder@seamasters.ca. He has a source in that area that makes up aluminum brackets for ribs. He is very familiar with 733"s.

That would be more turn key!

Aluminum is great for brackets, but i prefer fiberglass and since i have such a great glass guy that is our preferred method. Armstrong brackets is just down the street from us so if we wanted aluminum we would have a great option. But fiberglass is my friend.

640 Project

Clearly you have a great glass guy. Your project is looking awesome. Tom was on earlier and he is from the maritimes, looking for a 733 extention, so thought Robert Funder might be of some help with to him. Just got a call from Armstrong today to say my extention was ready to ship. Any suggestions on who I might get to ship it from your area. I am in Ontario Canada. Thanks for any help.

640 project

Great advise, got a hold of Lawrence today at Armstrong, lined up a shipper and my bracket will be on the road Monday. Thanks for your offer of help. Great experience dealing with Armstrong, truly a proffessional operation. Keep us posted on your build.

They are great.

No worries always glad to help a fellow riber. Armstrong is a great company. But we found that their brackets would not perform on 733's due to the weight difference in our engine requirements. We helped them out with some boats to test their new ladders on. Really slick way of adding a ladders to a rib.

I'm about to start the same project on a 640, I like your method of adding to the waterline / making an extension rather then a pod (i.e armstrong), although the armstrong "method" seems to have worked for others.

I'm wondering if you have specs for that extension you built or are willing to build more, or have any tips you might be willing to share.

Just be aware that the Lucas Hurricane(U.S. built) hull shape differs to the zodiac hurricane Technologies(Delta, Canada). The design of the tubes are also different with the Lucas hurricane bow section of the tubes being a little more pointed than the Z.H.T. squared off bow. The tubes are also fastgened to the hull in a different way...

Tubes are Done!

We had to make some modifications to the tubes and repaint but.... It was worth the wait! Will 303 and run life lines in 72 hrs. Then see how long it takes us to put them back on the boat!!!

6 Months no issues. And we use our boats 12+ hrs a day commercially.
