the signage made me nervous so I just snapped this. It looks like he sells big equipment. Im hoping that includes the rib if the tubes are usable. It's been there for at least 4 years. Had big twins last I saw but they're gone now.

From the shape of the console and the tubes, it looks like it could be an Avon sr6

And the twins fit that description as well.

Good eye 95gstnj....and from a hundred yards away!

An SR6 is rare in these parts. The tubes look pretty bad (split seam and multiple patches), the trailer needs lots of work and the console looks like it may have an issue at the base.

Has anyone found a ballpark price on tubes for an sr6 in the pacific nw? This would be the biggest factor in whether I make an offer on the boat. These tubes aren't fixable are they?

I'm at a loss as to what I would even offer the guy. He appears to have sold off the twin four strokes off the back and it's been sitting there in the equipment lot for years.

Ideas on salvaging tubes or a value of the boat as is?

It's so difficult to say, if there is no rips in the tubes then they should just pump up? But if you pump them up he'll want more for it!

I understand that hypalon is ok until it gets porous?

It is scary considering the cost of new tubes here. I cannot see myself ever forking out 10-12k for tubes. I read on here that this is the going rate for Hurricane 630 tubes. Ouch.

Columbia; might be worth a call to Polaris to see what he thinks a ballpark price for new tubes would be. Stock hull, so it shouldn't take much for an estimate. Someone on here (don't remember who) recently had Guy make some tubes for a smallish RIB; was fairly reasonable as I recall.

Right on, I will call them. The thought of driving all the way to Canada and waiting for them to finish is a bit daunting but it may be the best option if I manage to buy this thing.

Looks like a nice project. The tubes really dont look too bad.. I would say your best bet by far is to fix the tubes. These are glued on, and its quite a process to take the old off, fit new strips, flip the hull over, and fit new tubes.

If you are thinking about new tubes, talk to Paul Tilley at Tidel. He's in the UK so shipping will cost you, but he has done lots of Sr6 tubes. You are still looking at 6-7k easily.

I've refurbed a few of these. The console base does rot, no problem just flip it over, dry it out, and do some fiberglass work. What you need to look for is water ingress into the deck and transom wherever there is a hole or fitting. There are lots of holes drilled in the deck aft of the jockey seat splitting into a Y because the cables were originally routed through channels screwed into the deck, this is probably where you'll see some flex in the deck.

The boat is definitely worth refurbing, they are a ton of fun and VERY capable for their size. I've had mine out in some really nasty stuff, and I was totally comfortable with it. Unfortunately they don't sell for too much. Something like yours I wouldnt pay more than maybe $1-2k for if the tubes are fixable and the transom isnt rotted out. All outfitted with older 2strokes and ready to go in decent condition, maybe $10k. Outfitted REALLY well maybe $15k+.

Wow that was good as gold. Basically that was everything I needed to know. I may make a low offer and see how it goes. I'll spend time looking for rot beforehand.

Time to see how much a decent used 150 XL will run me next.

If that 60 series Landcruiser is his (and is a I-6 diesel), you should consider making him a package offer. It the cruiser happens to be yours, then you've already got great taste in vehicles.

So I'm dreaming I own this fixer sr6 while searching for photos online. I came across this one with camo tubes, Kevlar hull and a super pimped out console. I had no idea I could choose patterns on tubes! Can you make me some leopard print tubes Paul Tilley ?

The Camo boat belongs to a friend of miine who does custom auto and boat work. He put a lot of work into it when he bought it. The camo job is paint and it has now been repainted all grey. Every dealer will give you a different price but i can tell you for certain that the tubes are not as much a the Hurricane tubes. AS everyone else has said you can most likely refurb those tubes with a bit of elbow grease if you so desire.

Those camo tubes are actually painted with a product like "tuff coat" I cant remember the name of the product, but If you are not gonna keep the tubes orange, you can get this stuff. I think I remember he said he rolled it on. I didn't see it in person, but it looks awesome..

Also, a 150hp 25" shaft fits perfectly right on the transom, and is probably the best motor setup for the boat. I get great performance and 51.4mph top speed on gps.
