Joining the Coast Guard Auxiliary

Has anyone or is anyone currently volunteering for one of these positions? I am thinking about joining the local floatila here in Vancouver.

One of my co-workers has been a member for the past year and loves it.

I would love to be part of some search and rescues. After some training and getting my vessel correctly outfitted.

John

I joined 2 years ago and am having the time of my life. Great bunch of people and very dedicated. Lots of learning opportunities for things you thought you already knew.

Joining ccga

Hi, I have been a member for 7 years. It is a lot of fun and i have learned a lot. I am in the Sidney unit on vancouver island. Beware it is a big commitment of your time. I have seen lots of people come and go. I was also put through RHIOT school in Bamfield which was a great rough water training coures.
