Leaving Virgin Islands for Canada in my Searider

Packed the fishing gear this afternoon, cooler and twelve cases of beer, crash helmet, rolling papers, rubbers and two dozen scarlet flares and am leaving the Virgin Islands at dawn for the Gulf of St. Lawrence in my 4.7 meter Searider!

APRIL FOOLS

You f*rkin' nuts???

While it is a little milder, it's "blowin' a gagger" outside today... Mind you, I suppose it might take you a while to get here...

By the way, the big white floaty-things in the St. Lawrence aren't nav bouys... they're icebergs...

The town dock, last week...

i hope it's better this week, our snow is all gone....Hooray!! I even thought about taking the boat for a run, I haven't gotten a berg report from my connection by the lake yet though.

Finally broke 50 degrees f but still have 2 feet of snow around my house. Lakes are still frozen but seas are wide open. My wife loves snow, wants to move where it snows year round, I told her better have a post office because that is the only way she is going to hear from me

There's hope anyway...

Things are definitely looking up, but the harbour's still best suited to hockey rather than boating...

One more trip south in a couple of weeks, then I should be able to get back in... Nothing like diving one weekend in 81 F then 2 F the next...

These pics are from a tour company website...

Doug, I can keep an eye out for a place for the Missus if you like. Assuming she has most of her teeth, we could use the new genetic material up here...

Nice to know I'm not the only one who feels this way! What the h*ll she sees in me... I have no idea. I can only assume it's kinda like some of the guys on here who can't resist taking on some beat-up, half-sunk old RIB for the challenge of fixing it up. I think possibly I'm "A Project"!

Lake Simcoe

I was up to Lake Simcoe yesterday and no water to be found. They are still ice fishing on it though. Soon as the ramp is clear I'll put my rib in and work out the winter bugs. My son and I are taking a week off end of April to do the Perch Derby but it looks like I'll be leaving the rib behind and taking the ice auger instead.

The winter that won't end

I'm in Killington this weekend and it's snowing like a bastage out tonight..... I suppose on the upside, we're saving lots of gas money....
