Maine/NH Hampsire Motor Dealer/Rigger
We're looking for a new motor for our 5.4 searider. ( the 20yo mariner (115hp) is getting a bit old). We are looking at 90hp e-tecs, and would also like a bracket added at the same time (armstrong most likely). Boat is in Portland, ME, but we are happy to drive anywhere north of Rhode Island.
Havent had any luck with a couple local shops in the portland area, but if anyone can recommend someone, please let me know!
I'd apprecitate any feedback or comments, and certainly any recommendatons!
Thanks,
Alex

Went to the Boston Boat show yesterday also looking maybe to upgrade my "95" 2 stroke 115 evinrude. Couple of the outfits I talk to were not interested in any trade so I am running it till the pistons pop out. But look at the e-tec site on line, it gives a couple of names of outfits here in NH and ME. If you have any luck please let me know

If you're looking to have a bracket installed on your Searider, might be worthy of talking to a dealer that also sells RIBs. I know Brown's Yacht Yard up in Gloucester, MA sells the full line of Zodiacs and I believe they do Etecs, so might be worth a call.
You could also try giving Ribcraft a call. They might be able point you in the right direction.

Did you see any good RIBs at the show?

Brigs, avon, ab, caribe, zodica ribcraft were there. Only zodica and ribcraft had boats over 15 ft. Last year they all had larger boats. Ribcraft maybe a great boat but try to get a rep to pay any attention to you, at least this year I did not hear that my rib was a piece of crap like the ribcraft rep said to me last year. Sorry I am a little sensitive about my rib and the owner of HBI has been very helpful and it is a well built rib. Zodica rep was great at any of our questions. But all the ribs there were set up for rides around the bay, I would be afraid in scratching the surface with any scuba gear.

Sounds like a decent showing of RIBs, but I wonder why there weren't more RIBs bigger than 15'. I'm really surprised to hear that about the Ribcraft guys - I've always found them to be very attentive and never heard them speak negatively about any RIBs.

I second Brown's. The sold and rigged a 90 ETEC on my Searider last year. Nice people, nice work, attentive techs and a fair price. The also sell plenty of proper sized Zodiacs, so they know RIBs.

outboards
I have 2 Honda 130 hp 25" and 2 Yamaha "100" (now rated 90) hp 25" four strokes in Nova Scotia - $4500-4900. all 2000-2002s
probably too expensive for you folks down there.
