Paint recommendations for aluminum Highfield

Looking for paint recommendations for an aluminum Highfield 640. Purchased the boat from Michigan hence no antifouling paint. Presently using the boat off the coast of Maine. The local yard doesn't know what product to use quoting a $100 for a quart of paint, but thought they might have to use three kinds of paint, and sand the powder coat first, but that I shouldn't paint now because it would degrade over the winter, and should wait for Spring, when they won't have time to get to it, like last time.

No you do not sand the powdercoat off. We do many aluminum hull ribs. Petit gave us a two step process for powdercoated aluminum and three step for bare aluminum.
