My question is why Ribs seem to be so cheap overseas compared to USA when I look for boats for sale online? Is there some import duty that drives the price up? Is it possible to import RIBS from overseas? I love my old zodiac pro 470 but would like to get something bigger. Excuse me if this question has come up before and been answered. This is my first day on a forum.
In the same way, if someone in Europe wanted to buy a US made hard hull boat like an Alumacraft, Lowe, Ranger, etc. it would cost a small fortune in shipping costs to get it across the pond.
if you are thinking of buying a 5 or 6 mtr rib then with the cost of shipping say from the UK it becomes an expensive package. It is different when the shipment involves a large rib of a high value. The shipping price then does not really reflect on the total cost so much. We have shipped a number of 9-10 mtr ribs from Poland to the Caribbean and these were shipped on 40' flat open containers. The ribs were shrink wrapped and arrived OK
