Another one

People seem to like to die by the lake. Over the years you sort of get used to it a little bit. Fisherman fall in, people get depressed, the usual. With a city of 2.8 million it's not that rare. One year we even found a guy in our harbor shot squarley in the head. When the fire dept. came they asked us to drag him over to them. I laughed and said they could get on the boat and do the dragging themselves!
Bryan and I saw this scene yesterday. Looks like a lot of cops. Homicide was all over the place. Must have seemed like suspicious circumstances for all the attention it was getting. Usually they just scoop em out and thats that.

Pat War Machine looks amazing and yes, if the weather is breaking here it couldn't be that long for you! Time to start prepping.

Urban Boating...

Some may prefer the posh boating existence of limeydal: constant great temps, bright sun, blah blah blah. But not me, having been on a Fat Bastard trip or two, I prefer unexpectedly harsh weather, cold beers, and the true threat of both criminal and police boat alike. Yes, this is a Chicagoans boating tale, and I can imagine no better. Nice pics Rogan, I hope the Rib.net faithful are not taken aback by the in-your-face style of good old American homicide. But I must say, it is something about you I think, after all, you’re the only one I know who has come across multiple dead bodies AND multiple strewn about hand guns in my hometown. I mean, what are the odds!

I will be back in town when the lake warms, and in the meantime I attached a picture from the first day of spring in Sawyer my father took earlier this week—if you made a March crossing, I think you could still get onto the beach with a bit of ingenuity, of course, Bryan knows where the basement key is hidden…

I still think you should get one of those propane firing M2HB's on a mount in the bow. BTW is that helm seat a Lazyboy?

I really want the M2, but what a indulgence... I mean it's not an indulgence given my good old gun lovin Merican' background but the cost? I would only use it very infrequently, but it would look oh so cool... Tuber, thanks for the compliment, if ever you gents make it to the west end of the big lake (Erie) we'll get you out for a day...

Threat? Snake eating river raiders running ribs round Chi-ca-go? Threat? U.F.O. sightings? What threat are homicides to guys who get up at 3 am. and decide to take a quick blast down the Mississippi for a snake sushi and be back for lunch the next day? First two guesses don't count...

There is still a fair bit of ice on many of the rivers and lakes around here. A few days of warm temperatures and favorable wind should get rid of it, but the snowfall we got this morning sure doesn't help.

I "almost" got out this weekend. A buddy of mine picked up a new Bombard with a 75, so I gave him a hand with it. We were planning on heading out for a shakedown cruise, but it was pouring rain... and we're whimps!

I get my boat back Tuesday, so with a little luck, I'll be out later this week...
