We have had snow about every third day, only 3 to 6 inches at a time but it all adds up. A couple of things that make the "winter" tolerable is the thought of global warming and and my wood fired hot tub. We have been diving out of my rib a few times but the seas have suck most of the time but been fun rides

No snow for us but at last some decent weather - we have had about 2 weeks without rain or Force 8 winds - bliss - we have even seen the sun!!!

Throw another log on the fire, close eyes and pretend.....
Weather Summary For The U.s. Virgin Islands
National Weather Service San Juan Pr

Skies Were Mostly Clear This Evening...as Very Dry And Pleasant
Conditions Prevailed Throughout The Islands. Winds Were Mostly
From The East At 10 To 15 Mph And Coastal Temperatures Were In The
Mid To Upper 70s.
High Pressure Remains Firmly In Control Providing Mostly Dry And Breezy
Local Conditions. Patches Of Moisture In The Northeast Wind Flow
Will Affect The Area Throughout The Next Several Days Bringing
Periods Of Passing Shower Activity. However...these Showers Will
Generally Be Quick To Pass And Light To Moderate In
Nature...mostly Occurring During Nighttime. This Typical Winter
Pattern Is Expected To Persist Through The Upcoming Week.
For The Overnight...expect A Few Scattered Showers With Minimal
Rainfall Amounts. By Saturday Morning...the Area Will See A Return
Of Clearer Skies And Very Pleasant Weather For Most Of The

We've had snow squalls all week... the only highway into town was closed for most of the last three days. Currently waiting to get nailed with another storm... heavy snow, high winds, then warming slightly causing "significant" accumulations of freezing rain... then cooling Sunday night with more snow!
On the upside... heading to Grenada shortly for a little diving and getting hitched...

Good for you Stoo! We've had really good weather this winter down here and while it's usually dry as a bone by February, we've had brief passing showers all winter, which is good for the cisterns. It's been blowing a bit but that doesn't matter much 100 feet down. There have been more whales than usual around here also including Orca which are fairly rare were spotted by a charter boat out of Christiansted the other day and photographed. One of the calves was messing with a bait but thank god left it alone before it caught a hook. I guess one could say that you and the Orca have something in common, fleeing the North and cruising the Caribbean. I'm in the middle of getting unhitched but having "hitched" three times it is obvious I don't have anything against it! Congratulations!
Tomas

John, I didn't think a little "Caribbean Dreaming" would hurt the Cabin bound

Well congratulations to you too! One of my best buds is on his 5th Missus... He too says he loves being married. I keep pointing out that it isn't necessary to marry them after the first date...
I have known all his wives, although not in the "Biblical" sense... all lovely women...

He He
Stoo,
If it weren't for alimony I'd been a dead man long ago, and almost succeeded with what I had left. It frightens me to think of what I would have done if I'd had more money! I also raised four beautiful children (none of them the same damn color) and when it was good, it was real good, women wise!
Grenada good and if you ever get to Dominica, that's a real place. They have a dive there Champagne, which tickles like a sob. A massive underground fresh water spring comes out of limestone on the bottom and the water is carbonated. The ocean/fresh mix makes it seem cloudy though.
Somehow I have this mental picture of you and ladybug with all your gear punching drifts on a couple of snowmobiles for fifty miles in a blizzard trying to get to an airport

Well, I'm happy to report that it warmed right up to -3C today, which is a quite a departure for the last 6 weeks. During that time we might have had one or to days warmer than -20 C, but for the most part overnight temps were in the -30 to -36 C range for the last 6 weeks.

PT, I was in Edmonton last week (returning from Jasper) and the windchill was -48C... It "was" a dry cold of course!
Thomas, your life sounds like the one I was heading toward during my brief stint as a guide in the Bahamas and Grand Cayman many years ago.... I never should have left! Mind you, my kids do appear to be a matched set, although my daughter bears an alarming resemblance to the aforementioned five-wife friend!
Pat, I think Dal's offer seems like a good one. I'd even be happy to tow your boat down there for you... and perhaps stay for a month or so!

Tomas, Limeydal, Stoo et al..
Well gentleman... seems to me Tomas and Limeydal are living large, thank you but no thank you Limeydal, the thought of looking at your spectacular photos on Ribnet of my boat out having fun while I chip out of more ice (freezing rain today) would be more than I could bear, as a matter of fact, just waterboard me while you're at it, it would ease the pain. Tomas, any work down there? I'm ready to run... Stoo, you have it worse, but you get to go south occasionally, I haven't been so fortunate... And Tuber? The weather reports from you... Insane, you are the man to just be able to tough it out...
I was all set to go to the Miami boat show this week when suddenly... work interfered.

Maybe if he ripped out just a corner of the postcard and sent that to you?

Ah yes, and therein lies the problem... Anyone interested in a mass retirement? Maybe Tomas could put us for a bit while we get re-established... Hook us up with some Sugga-Mamas!
