Wouldn't it be great if you could buy a good used rib in the UK then instead of going the container route for 4K have it towed across the pond by a boat that's making the trip anyway, say for a 1K?

But unless you got a big one I don't think their would be much left of it went it got to America.
Sort of like when you forget you've tied the dog to the car bumper. (Fender).

Towing is pretty rough on a boat (actually on two boats.) Especially in swell.
I think I'd ante up for the container route, rather than spend that much (or more) on repairs.
