Trip Report - Georges Island, Boston

Took the kids, my sister and her husband into Boston Harbor today (24nm r/t). There's a free public dock, and a Civil War era fort you can hike throughout. Here are some pics: 1 - Departure from Marblehead. 2 - Giant Dinosaur eggs. 3 - The boy in the seat. 4 - Picnic at Georges Island. 5 - Boston Light.

No, although we have plenty of LNG tankers offloading around here too.

It's Deer Island Sewage Treatment Plant. Each egg digests 3 million gallons of sludge.

Hmmm. Not sure I needed that. LNG plant is at least a little sexier.

Georges Island has free docking (stern-to), but most of the other islands have moorings or anchorage areas, and then you dinghy in
