Wanted: DEAD OR ALIVE!! Ribnet Celebrities and their ODD photos
Did that get your attention? Being as it is winter and incredibly boring I thought we start a NEW and FUN thread called... drum roll please.....
RIBnet celebrities!!! Now there are only a few requirements to posting to this thread, First, we want pictures of Ribnet celebrities. Secondly, we want pictures of them with their boats if possible. Thirdly, anything odd about boating, anything attractive about boating (ladies) and Fourthly, anything zany, wierd, unusual or funny.
O.K. in the interest of getting things started I will start the list of potential celebrities, this can and will be added to by anyone who thinks they are a Ribnet celebrity or a boating celebrity for that matter, the only requirement is that you A. Post a picture with any post. B. Be a legend in your own mind or someone else's! In keeping with proper forum etiquette and celebrity requirements you should be posting a picture of a boat, someone who owns a boat, saw a boat, been on a boat, got drunk on a boat, got lucky on a boat or knows what a boat is so on and so forth...
Any questions? No?
O.K. Here is my "A" List:
1. John Kennett. He runs things so he is God, god has always been a celebrity.
2.Cod. Cod rhymes with God and that makes him a natural fit, I also think he knows what a boat is so that qualifies him. He is also the Austin Powers of Ribnet, the international man of mystery who no one has ever seen!
3. Stoo. Stoo, anyone who got drunk with John Candy is definitely a celebrity. You also Probably got drunk and lucky on a boat so those qualifiers meet the criteria in my mind.
4.Rogan. Anyone who takes a small inflatable down the Mississippi risking the chance "Deliverance" style southern encounter qualifies, he also is the "Wild Thing" of the American forum, outrunning the Coast Guard, Appearing in national marine publications and wearing a green thong (allegedly) although I hope it was his girlfriend wearing the thong.
5. Tuber, you better put up your picture as anyone who survives temperatures such as the ones you are exposed to gets a automatic qualifier. Legend status.
I guess this is a reasonable example of a acceptable photo, my daughter and my stockbroker protecting my boat from squirrel and bird droppings...

My ribnet celebrities would be;
a) Mr Luxton, for sheer persistance.
b) davidmanning, for sending me an engine overheating sensor, following my first post, what a legend!
c) Kernow, for his post on the avatar thread.
I wish I had a photo of them all, perhaps they'd oblige by posting them here.

Celebrity? I don't think so!
Anyway, as the resident evil dicator my true identity must remain a closely guarded secret.

RE: posts
John, as the Overlord of Ribnet who I hope never to offend could you remove any posts without pictures from this thread? I hope people can have some fun with this and pictures with each post makes for more entertainment.

RE: posts
No offense taken at all, it just would be fun to have one thread on here where every post has a picture, it will take the cooperation of all and would be something that probably hasn't been accomplished on this site before, kind of hard to keep it going really...
Picture of where kids like to play when the grandparents dogs are visiting, now if we could just keep them there!

Do you damn Yankies have to keep reminding us that Britain has the most OTT gun laws in the whole world??? Can't even own a .22 target pistol any more.
As to piccies you will have to wait until we get some warm weather - my new crewmate is FAR more photogenic than I will ever be!!!
Never been described as a celeb before - many other things but never that!!!

I'm sorry but I'm going to sound like a big girls blouse here, I would feel far more like cooperating if you had said;
"Hey Mug, post a picture you're letting the side down, can't you read," rather than asking John to remove my post.
Anyway in the interests of cooperation have a few pictures, although they have been posted before there may be some that missed them and I quite like them too.

I was brought up with guns so learned to love and respect them. Now so many guns have been banned in the UK they find that it hasn't made any difference to gun crime - what's the solution - even more laws to ban toy guns and replicas!!!
Britain still has prob the lowest gun crime in the world - but the number of "firearm" incidence is going up all the time - entirely due to hyserical over reaction. They actually send armed police to deal with kids with water pistols - HONESTLY!!! This is then classified as a "firearms" incident to reinforce the fact the police need to carry guns!!!
