RIBase
Another vote for funkymonkey
My letters from funkymonkey arrived today fitted in seconds and look great. Stuck to the tubes no problem with no air bubbles

boat letters

Hi NX,

I just replaced my reg numbers. I didn't want to use the basic marine stick-on letters because they don't stay on too long. I also didn't want to have to use glue and attach hypalon numbers, so I did a bit of searching on the net and found a small company from Tennessee who do self adhesive lettering. I called and explained the application was a rib. What they did was to double laminate the material. They have some weight, so I think they will last. If not, they have a five year guaranty. Here is a link to their site: http://www.signspecialist.com/letter...atnumbers.html. Here's a picture:

Guy at Polaris Inflatables has a line on a company that does what are essentially inlaid numbers: A backing gets cutouts in the shape of the characters, then contrasting characters are inserted. I believe it's done on top of a second layer of hypalon. The whole thing gets glued on.

You'd have to ask him how much it runs.

When I bought my ribcraft the cost from them to do reverse cut registration numbers was close to $300.00 installed. I didn't take that option. I don't know how much polaris charges, but I'm betting it isn't cheap. I haven't seen reverse cut hypalon for a name, would look great, but would cost a fortune.

The best place is boatnumberplate.com to me have the best idea for RIBs or any other inflatables. I had them on my old RIB and they will match the color of your boat with another contrasting color.

The only thing is that you have to go down to ABC in Portland to get the voucher.

Here is a picture of my old red head with the number plate.

The cost is 49.99 and shipped to your home.

Wet & Wild take some beating for service!!
Used them for the past 5 years or so and exceptional speed and shipping over here to California.

http://www.wild-graphics.co.uk/wild2005/about.php

Email them for quote and ask for flexi-vinyl lettering.
Is ready spaced and self adhesive.
The small reg letters have been on my RIB for 5 years and just about need replacing. The larger "bayshots lettering" tends to last about 3 years, but I am out every weekend.
The hot weather here tends to exagerate the expanding and cooling, but the letters keep their grip.
cheers Dal
